I recently watched a television documentary about Star Wars, and found it amusing that George Lucas and the original cast of the movie thought that the film had the potential to be a huge flop, and were actually shocked and amazed to see lines of people wrapping around the block of the handful of movie houses that picked up the film during the summer of 1977. Funny how things work out. According to The Internet (TM) there is actually a religion based on Lucas' Jedi characters and their Buddhist-esque quest for Universal peace.
And the Jedi movement is not doing too shabby! For those of you who are new to The Internet (TM), here is a brief recap of how the religion got started.
